Welcome to December!

Discover the Warmth Within

December's gifts - custom, ceremony, celebration - come to us wrapped up, not in tissue and ribbons, but in cherished memories.  This is the month of miracles and a time to embrace the miracle of authenticity, changing forever how we view ourselves.

The winter air outside is thin and bracing; sharp, frigid and icy.  In winter we live in anticipation.  Friends come in from the cold to be embraced by family.  Once we close the door, the winter air is warm, heavy, and aromatic:  wood burning, spicy cinnamon and ginger.  Breathe in deeply the fragrance of contentment.

Souls, sip and savor.  Eat, drink and be warm with family and friends.

The 12 Step Program to Stress Less

In Step 11 we learned how to take charge of our lives.  Continue to nurture yourself to wellness with last step of my 12 Step Program.

You're human.  You're going to violate some of the Six Essentials from time to time; what you eat, what you drink, how you exercise, how you rest, what you breathe and what you think.  Give yourself a break by letting your naturotherapist help you repair and re-time your body.  Your naturotherapist will help you to balance your muscles so circulation improves and remove blockages in your nervous system so your body can use the energy where it's needed to keep it running right.
To Begin Step 12, tell your naturotherapist the choices you've made about the Six Essentials For Life.  Based on your choices, your naturotherapist will help you work "The Five Steps to Health".  Set up a schedule and stick with it.

How We Can Help
Engage in non-medicinal treatments that will enable your body to heal itself.
These steps are:

1. Relief from Pain and Sickness

Relief from your symptoms is important, but this kind of relief doesn't make you healthier.  We go beyond the physical to make sure you are mind and body healthy.

2. Correcting the Cause

Your symptoms are not the cause of your complaint.  They are the result of the true underlying problem.  Getting to the root of the problem means you will experience long lasting relief from your symptoms and better overall health.

3. Living Healthy

Learn the way your lifestyle affects your body.  Learn how nutrition and the foods you eat can positively impact how your body functions.  Learn how natural supplements can have a positive impact on living healthy.

4. Thinking Healthy

Your thoughts and feelings, including the amount of stress you carry on your shoulders, has a profound impact on your health.  Natural treatments can help turn the negatives into positives, promoting overall balance and harmony for your body.

5. Staying Healthy

Maintain your healthy body by following your treatment schedule, working on your diet and positive thoughts, and continuing your personal treatment schedule and your regular maintenance care.  It's a proven fact that if given the opportunity, your body can heal itself.  Healthy alternatives are available, and can help you achieve your physical and emotional health goals.  Get back on the road to good health.

Step 12:  To begin my regular therapeutic treatment schedule, I will:

Suggestions to Help You Reduce Stress

With a New Year peering at us from just around the corner, it's no doubt you're probably taking stock of your life and thinking about New Year's resolutions.  Start by visualizing your ideal life.  Take a moment to get quiet and go within.  Close your eyes.  Now see how you live and who lives with you.  What does your dream house look like?  What type of garden do you have?  Do you have any pets?  What kind of job do you have?  Now see if you can't find pictures in magazines to match your ideal ones.  Cut them out and create a collage or vision board.  When you're finished, find a photograph of yourself that you especially like and place it in the centre of your vision board.

A vision board is something you create to remind yourself of your own, personal goals.  Your vision board represents a collection of your greatest dreams and desires.  Once you've made one, you'll be able to look at it and use it as a reminder of the things you want to achieve most.  Before you start cutting and pasting, identify your goals, dreams and wishes by writing them down on a piece of paper.  After you've made a list of your goals and dreams, start flipping through the magazines and photographs you've collected, and cut out images and words that relate to your goals and dreams.  Glue or tape them onto a poster board in any fashion you like.

Remember:  there are no limits when it comes to your own, personal dreams and goals.  With patience, hard work and dedication, any dream is doable, and any wish is achievable!

December Activities

There's no doubt that December is a hectic month.  In the midst of all the stress and chaos, it's important to set aside time to relax and enjoy all that this month has to offer!

• Take the family ice skating at the local outdoor rink.
• Go for a walk in the forest and savour the crunch of snow under your feet.
• Re-hydrate dried out skin with a small amount of almond oil.  To use dampen your finger tips and apply to
   your face with upward strokes.
• Enjoy one or two fancy chocolates from an expensive chocolatier - it won't wreck your diet!
• Buy a couple thick Egyptian-cotton washcloths from a luxury bath shop and set aside time for a
   leisurely bath.
• Enjoy a cup of Settle-Me-Down tea; 2 parts dried peppermint leaves and 1 part chamomile
flowers.  Store in a jar.  To make, use 1 tsp per cup of hot water, steep 10 minutes.  Enjoy!
